Therapeutic Approach

Internal Family Systems Therapy

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy encourages the exploration of our internal worlds as a series of interconnected “parts” that maintain our typical functioning (or, in some cases, don’t!). These parts may serve different roles, hold conflicting opinions, or operate in ways that seem misaligned with our overall goals. An IFS informed therapist guides you to find your way inside to meet, get to know, and eventually heal your parts.

Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST) encourages efficient and focused approaches to problem-solving. IST provides a framework for incorporating tools from various therapeutic models, such as narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, attachment theory, and more. An IST therapist is constantly assessing and re-assessing to customize their therapeutic approach to you and your goals.

Integrative Systemic Therapy

The Gottman Method is a couple’s therapy approach developed by Dr. John Gottman and Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman. The Gottman Method primarily focuses on the method’s nine components of a healthy relationship, often presented as “The Sound Relationship House.” The Gottman Method often includes a review of relationship history and reported issues, psychoeducation around healthy relationship practices, and skill-building with the help of your therapist.
